Salmon or Peach Colored Concealers

In my never-ending search for the perfect concealer, I've come across some video tutorials where the makeup artist uses peachy-toned concealer under the eyes. Claims were made in the tutorial that this was the best color for covering blue undereye circles. I'd like to know if anyone has used this stuff and with what outcome. Thanks!

I saw a demo on HSN this weekend for a peach concealer. They used it for everything, from redness to under eye circles.

Anyway, I know this doesn't answer your question. I'm interesting in reading other responses too.

Hmm, I wonder if it was my video. LOL. Well, the peach/salmon colored concealer is based on the opposite color theory that we learned in art/painting class. A color hides a color better than a lighter shade. So in concealers, I found that peach hides blue (under eye circles, veins, bruises) better than a light ivory concealer, which just makes the blue look gray. Also, yellow calms red/pink, pink calms gray (under eyes..) etc. It's a photo trick I've used for years that works great... you have to try it to see the results.....

I find this really interesting because I can remember yellow concealer being marketed to cover under eye circles. I tired one, and it didn't do much good. Now I know why. :)

Thanks for the great Concealer 101! Do you have a brand/brands of peach concealer you can recommend?

I know Physician's Formula has the different colored concealer for concealing.. how great it works, i'm not sure...

I find that Physician's Formula concealers are heavy on the yellow and green. I've tried most of them and they don't work for me. I did find some discussions about MAC's Select Cover-Up having peach-tones. Perhaps I'll stop by the MAC counter for a test drive next time I'm in the city. Thanks for the interesting discussion, ladies!

Have you tried it? Did it work? It's a bit pricey but if it works...I can find a way to justify the purchase :)

Bobbi Brown says yellow based concealers are the best, too.

I've tried Physician's Formula and didn't like it either. Same for Estee Lauder - too drying. Another one to avoid is Revlon Skinlights. I'm still searching for the perfect concealer. I'm trying one from Revlon and it's creamy, covers well (meaning doesn't accentuate the fine lines ) but I'm still not enamoured with it. Constantly looking...

I have really fair skin and had a makeup application lesson when I went to a spa a couple of years ago. With fair skin I have a problem with dark circles under my eyes and had never found anything that worked to cover them. The spa introduced me to Jane Iredale's Circle\Delete #2 which is a cream concealer. The compact comes with two colors, light and medium peach. which you can blend together or use alone to get the best results. This has been a godsend to me and works very well. A little goes a long way so you have to be careful not to overapply. Good Luck!
