Welcome to the 1st issue of "Face Time with Âme". This letter is all about you and your beauty. I truly belelive all woman are beautiful. It's just a matter of recogniziong your personal beauty and focusing on it. Beauty isn't about how tall or short your are or if your nose is thin or wide. It's about your essence, your soul shinning through - your personal magic that shows you are poised, you are a lady.

Makeup should only enhance your natural beauty. It should be simple to do and look natural. So now that you know what I consider to be the definition of beauty, lets begin our monthly "Makeup Makeover Tips". Remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder so you need to decide whose opionion matters to you the most. Hopefully the most important opinion is yours. Self confidence is the basis of your essence, that's why Âme cosmetics beleives in ...the essence of you.

Foundation, do I really need it?

Foundation is a wonderful gift from God. It evens out your complexion and covers up just about anything. Now remember we are only going to enhance your natural beauty so if your skin tone is naturally even and glows on it's own, you may not need foundation. (You'll need to wait for next month's tip (smiles) but if you need a little help coving a few imperfections then foundtaion is for you. Foundations come in several forms and textures such as:

Liquid Foundation
Two-way Foundation
Pressed Powder Foundation
Mineral Loose Foundation Powder
Tinted Moisturizer

If you have oily or blemished skin you should use a matte foundation. If your skin is normal or dry, you can choose from any of the foundations. In my opinion, foundation is the building block or corner stone of your makeover. If you put it on right it will be the most important part of your facial appearance.

How do I apply foundation?

So how do you apply foundation? I always suggest you talk to your Âme Beauty Consultant. She will come to you and personally take the time to determine what is the best shade and texture for you.

If you are at a self-help counter here are a few tips for finding the right foundation for you. Start by choosing the correct color or shade. You need a shade that is the closest to your natural skin tone. That's why Âme Cosmetics has 20 foundation shades so you can find the perfect one for you. Okay, so what form of foundation do you want to use? There's liquid, Two-way, creme-to-powder, tinted Moisturizer, powder compacts and mineral powders.

So you've figured out what is the best form of foundtaion now it's time to apply it. You start by placing a dot of foundtaion in the center of your face, right above your nose then you blot your forehead, cheeks and chin. Blend it in by connecting the dots in a downward motion. Remember to blend out to your hair line and just below your jaw line. You don't want to have a circle on your face :) After you have finished blending, take a facial tissue and dab lightly around your face to remove any excess. WOW! you look great and you have just completed the process of correctly choosing and applying foundation.
