My 13 year old daughter has recently developed a severe case of acne. I feel so bad! How do I treat it, naturally?!

Oh dear! Well I know the feeling and I know what it is like to want to get rid of it, that's why I got in this business~

My recommended regime for acne:

At least once or twice a day:

Cleanse: Use an oil and soap-based cleanser or a seaweed cleanser Rinse your skin with cold water to bring warm blood to the capillaries at the skin's surface, helping to increase the circulation.

Astringent: Put a high-quality astringent on a cotton ball and remove any excess soap or dirt. Make sure it includes ingredients like witch hazel, lily, lavender, horsetail, sage, yarrow, and comfrey.

Moisturize: Use an oil-free herbal moisturizer sparingly around your mouth and forehead or where you are dry. You do not need to moisturize where you have breakouts.

At least twice a week:

Exfoliate: Use a non-abrasive, botanical mask. Papayas, pineapple, and honey are all perfect ingredients. You may also make an herbal mask of your own using a high-quality yogurt with ground herbs of lily, lavender, rose, chamomile, and calendula.

Steam: Use a single mixture of the above herbs to deeply cleanse the pores and release pus or to open them up as a preventive measure. To tighten and stimulate the skin, use peppermint, lavender, anise, comfrey leaves, and rose.

Acne Steam: Steep lavender, licorice, comfrey root, lemon, chamomile, and witch hazel in boiling water.

I don't mean to step in here but as an esthetician who specializes in the treatment of acne, I DO NOT recommend seaweed or algae based products. They are extremely aggravating to acne due the high iodide content. I treat teens all the time and your welcome to share with her the info I have posted at my blog in regard to acne.

Also, please note that you need to understand what type of acne she has- it is inflamed or non-inflamed? There are totally different protocols for each.

Again, I apologize if I'm over-stepping bounds. I'm just passionate about problematic skin types because it's my speciality as well as having first hand experience with acne.

Have a great day!

I had acne problem before and I hate it! I tried many ways to kick away this annoying acne problem and then I finally found a solution which improves my skin and cues my acne condition! I have friends who also took NIMEGEN (derma doctor treatment) to cue ance, it's a pretty expensive and long treatment which is not good for health in a long run (dangerous side-effect on your liver!!) plus it doesn't work on everybody!

So after long consideration and research on anti-acne, I found out that healthy diet is very important to cue ance! I cut beef and any food that cause irritation ( according to Chinese medical practitioner, food like beef, seafood, hotpot and spicy stuff cause irritation and acnes). I also pay more attention to the use of cleaning product, I stopped using cleaning oil and use cleaning gel for removing make-up, what's more is with the use of effective anti acne skincare products, then my acne problem disappear quickly!

I also understand choosing right and effective anti-acne products is a brain-teaser! After my serious research I found out that a brand called Murad is quite effective! I don't know if they have Murad store nearby your place but you can try buy it online. There is a website call www.beautilady.com and they have discount on Murad products! Murad is quite popular in Australia and US and the price is reasonable (not to mention more healthy) comparing with NIMEGEN treatment!

Hope my anti-acne tips helps and all gals who reads my tips have lovely beautiful skin ! =) For more details, visit www.beautilady.com
